![]() ![]() After graduating from Florida State with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree, Caldwell excelled as a professional distance runner, winning the Racing South road racing Grand Prix series four times, qualifying for the US Olympic Marathon Trials twice, and winning US National Masters championships at 5,000m and the Half Marathon. The program also produced the 2020 South Carolina Men's Long Distance Runner of the Year and recorded state road racing records in the men's 15K, 10-Mile, 20K, Half Marathon (twice) and women's 5K and 15K.Ī former school record holder over 800 meters at Florida State University in Tallahassee. ![]() ASICS GTC-ELITE had four athletes qualify for the 2016 USA Olympic Team Trials Marathon in Los Angeles, CA, three for the 2020 Marathon OTs in Atlanta, GA, and one athlete finish 12th in the 2019 Pan American Games Marathon in Lima, Peru. The founder of the nationally known Racing South Competitive Team, which produced multiple national road team championships, a member of the '83 World Championships team in Helsinki, and the '88 USA Women's Olympic Marathon Trials winner. Trained as an Exercise Physiologist, he coached many top athletes including Olympian and World Championship competitor Benji Durden who ran 2:09:57 at the 1983 Boston Marathon. He later competed for the Atlanta Track Club and then founded Racing South Magazine and the Racing South Competitive Team, which became one of the nation’s best. A former prep cross country standout from North Carolina, he was co-captain of Furman’s cross country team and later competed for the world renown Florida Track Club, which presented the opportunity to train with many of the nation’s best runners including Olympians Frank Shorter, Marty Liquori and Dick Buerkle. ![]()
